Today a parade lead by the FMPD motorcycles escorted the giant crane followed by several other construction vehicles and traveled east on Wichita Trail, up Bruton Orand down Flower Mound Rd, and was then finally lead out of the city down 2499. Not only did this crane take up two lanes, but was also lead by police on the left side of the road. Police blocked the intersection of 3040 and 2499 just so the big rig could drive on the wrong side and take up the space. However on Wichita Trail, where the other lane is given to opposite going traffic, other vehicles were not warned and had to move onto the grass. This bizarre parade of construction vehicles and siren chirping motorcycles signals a great day in Flower Mound. And even though, the bridge is finished, but is still blocked by signs, we now can say that we now have hope, that someday it will be open to the public.
