Title: Best Place to Live and Move! Post by UmmYeahOk on Jul 20th, 2009 at 1:06pm
In 2003 CNN's Money Magazine listed Flower Mound as one of the most desirable places to live. Making it #2 Western region, under 100,000 population. Now in 2009, Forbes lists Flower Mound as the #6 best place to move to in the nation and #1 in Texas to move to. It refers to it as a Reloville... ...basically a community of people who relocate frequently for jobs.

I assume "Best Places to Move" is the same as "Best Places to Live." http://www.forbes.com/2009/07/07/relocate-relocation-cities-lifestyle-real-estate-affordable-moving.html http://www.forbes.com/2009/07/07/relocate-relocation-cities-lifestyle-real-estate-affordable-moving_slide_7.html Quote:
Considering how many non-Texans, its no surprise. Although Im surprised the percentage is only 58%. I wonder if they consider children origins. In the 90s many children moved here, but in this decade many were born here. They say that 28% came from outta state after the 2000 census. This seems accurate, as the boom started to slow then, which would mean that many of those couples who moved in the 90s would now have Texas children today. Whats interesting is that the median family income is $112,725, and the median home value is $232,600... ...So I guess that would mean that many people here have a paid off home. Who needs a 30 or 15 year mortgage with those kind of statistics! ;D In the Nation: #6 Flower Mound #7 Frisco #9 McKinney #12 Carrollton #19 Allen #25 Plano #?? Corinth #?? Southlake #?? Coppell |
