GRAPEVINE, Texas - Two teenagers were seriously injured in a single-car crash on Tuesday. The incident happened at about 5 p.m. in the 100 block of Fairway Drive in Grapevine. According to Grapevine police, the 17-year-old male driver from Flower Mound lost control of the 2000 Mazda sedan as it was traveling southbound. Witnesses said the car left the roadway, struck a tree and came to rest on the grassy shoulder, police said. The driver and a 13-year-old male passenger, also from Flower Mound, sustained serious injuries and were transported to Parkland Medical Center and Cook Children's Hospital of Dallas, respectively. The teens' conditions were not known. Fairway Drive, a two-lane road that crosses Grapevine Lake Dam, was closed for about an hour. Grapevine police are investigating the crash.
